Voluntary work, also known as unpaid work, is a form of work where an individual exchanges their time and skills for no cost. While not technically Employment, it is worth noting.

Voluntary and unpaid work can take on different forms. Some examples are: vocational placements, unpaid internships, unpaid work experience and unpaid trials.
There are many reasons why someone might want to participate in voluntary work. They can:

- Test their skills & abilities
- Volunteer time and effort to a not-for-profit organisation
- Enjoy the pleasure & satisfaction to help others
- Satisfy their own personal beliefs, mission & religion.
